Kirilip 2 Days 1 Night

On the 6th of April 2011, 3 of our staffs brought Monika Maria and Marcin Jozee from Poland for a camping trip at Kirilip Jungle Camp

Upon arrival, our leading guide, JunJun gave a short briefing to the group before starting  the trek to Kirilip Jungle Camp

Mr. Ambrose was also there to send the group on the 1st day.

The group had to pass a piece of land owned by the locals to get to the entrance of Kirilip Jungle Camp. There, JunJun explained briefly about the farming that the locals are doing

The main enterance to the jungle heading to Kirilip Jungle Camp

The trail were a bit challenging since it was raining the day before and early that morning

One of the rubber tree the group passed by. The guest was trying to get hold of the 'KANTALAN',the spoiled rubber milk caused by the rain

One the challenges the group had to face, crossing a stream on a fallen tree

The group spotted something on the ground

A wild centipede that we saw along the trail

Wild Ribbon Mushroom blooms on our way to the camp

One of the oldest and highest tree in the jungle

A short stop at the dam made by the villagers by gathering the surrounding rocks. A great place to appreciate nature

The 'hollow' tree by the dam. Something interesting about this tree is it still standing tough and doesn't show any signs of going down

After 10 minutes of break, the journey continues...

The trek was accompanied with the beauty of nature in the jungle of Kirilip

Even though the trek was quite tough, but it was drained by the scenery served by nature

On the way, Mr. Marcin Jozee spotted a wild jungle spider

Upon arrival, Monika Maria and Marcin Jozee helped to set up the bathing equipment before the sun goes down

The bathing equipment is ready. Monika Maria and Marcin Jozee named it 'The Funny Thing' because it looks funny hanging there on its own

While the guest taking their rest, JunJun started the fire using only charcoal for cooking dinner

While waiting for the sweet potato to be cooked, a brief visit to the waterfalls fills the time

The dinner is served after coming back from the waterfall. Roasted sweet potato, boiled eggs, and Chicken Lihing Soup was a tasty dinner prepared by JunJun

After the dinner, a good night sleep comforted everyone to refresh energy.

Early in the morning, breakfast was prepared

The breakfast is served. Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin (Salted Fish Fried Rice), Fried eggs, and hot tea

The trek starts after finishing breakfast. On the way, there were rubber left-overs that had already spoiled. The first stop was at Joel Point, a view point to see the district of Kinarut in whole

On the way to the next stop, the group stopped at a rubber processing area. Both of the guest took pictures there

The trek continues. A wild local fruit named Limposu served by mother nature to refresh the group to get through the rough trail

At last! The water source of the streams at Kirilip Jungle Camp

On the way back to the camping ground, a local was doing her job processing the rubber milk to make it as a rubber sheet. She explained briefly about the process to the group

After the trek, lunch was served and all the things were packed.
The group trekked out from the camp ground around 4 at the afternoon.
